All about Family Law Direct

We are extremely proud of our paralegal academy, and it being one of its kind. FLD have been nominated for multiple awards, to include Innovation of the Year, at the Family Law Awards and being highly commended recently for Trainee Scheme of the Year, at the Lexis Nexis Legal Awards.

Here at FLG, we have invested heavily in our infrastructure. This includes a unique opportunity to join our Family Law Direct department (FLD) which is a Paralegal Academy we have developed, which aims to develop solicitors of the future. That is the main goal of our Academy. Throughout the years, we have noticed a lack of bridge between graduating from university and the world of work. We believe investing the time in nurturing our paralegals, helping to develop their specialist skills in family law, exposing them to relevant experience under supervision, all contributes to shaping the lawyers or tomorrow. Upholding the standards and excellence in practice and client care’

The programme is offered as a 6-month contract, during which participants become part of our Family Law Direct (FLD) Paralegal Training Academy. Unlike traditional paralegal roles, where individuals assist a single solicitor, this Academy offers a broader scope of experience. Led by Lucy Tissington, with support from Deputy Rabina Aziz, the Academy is designed to provide comprehensive guidance, ensuring every paralegal has the support and resources they need to thrive both during their training and beyond.

The Academy’s success speaks for itself. Many of our paralegals progress into advanced roles within Family Law Group, with some going on to complete their SQE apprenticeships. Here are some of the comments made by FLD paralegals recently;
